Perhaps you should always carry something with which to attack or defend with. One of those sharp hairpins you girls wear might do. Perhaps something sharp you stick in your belt or boot. I'm not saying you should be paranoid, but that's the kind of observation that would warrant some sort of preparation, at least if it could be worked easily into your daily dress routine.

Incidentally, what dorm do you live in, what room, and when do you come home at night?
