These aren't in any particular order.

1. sunshine.
2. meeting random people and discovering that you can, in fact, carry on a conversation with them for 5 hours.
3. buying tickets to the Caribbean with the grand plan of lying on a beach in sunshine.
4. being warm.
5. buying ridiculously frivolous clothing for far too much money, but not caring because it looks good on me.
6. onetruedavid and shadowyvern for being sympathetic when I was sick.
7. darkest_light because she is made of awesome.
8. Borrone's. Specifically, their lentil soup, but pretty much everything there is good. And so close!
9. my family. Whenever I talk to/get an email from my parents or my brother, I'm inevitably smiling. Even if they're yelling at me for some silly thing I did. Plus, my dog.
10. cheesy Europop music. especially Gunther.
11(my list goes up to 11). Books. And bookstores.

And, also, I'm really tired of coughing, but at least I'm not collapsed in my bed or on the couch or anything.

Also, I have recently acquired a small toy consisting of what appears to be a silver-colored hershey kiss with eyes and a smile, sitting on a small yellow base with two grey broken columns behind it. it's copyright SQEX, which implies square enix to me. Do any of y'all sqexers out there have any idea what it's called?

And in other news, instead of going hiking (because it was raining), I bought The Most Ludicrous Shoes Ever. And then I went out and bought a denim miniskirt and red tanktop to wear with them. I went *outfit* shopping. I'm so amused, but I love them so much. I was trying to buy a pair of jeans and some sensible shoes (which I also picked up, but still, I think I'm only barely breaking even). Also, I am apparently pear-shaped - baby got back and then some.

Also, there was DnD, and someone said that it was a good session! So, I'm not a terrible DM! I'm causing terrible roleplaying conflicts and directing pompous NPCs, and planning more than I need to, so that's good. And then there was talking, and trouble wasn't caused and I played well with others, and received some interesting email.

All in all, a pretty damn successful weekend.

today's happy thought: harry potter IV: goblet of fire at midnight! (w00t!)assuming nothing has gone wrong, kim and people and i are going to so.hadley to watch hp on the big screen at midnight so that we can all drag around work tomorrow.

[edit, 315pm EST:] So, in celebration of the veterans of the first world war, of whom my dad and grandad have both told me stories of, the bittersweet thought of the day is Veteran's day, this article from cnn.com (thanks to sam for pointing it out to me), WWI in general. And a reminder to treasure those around you, since they won't always be there.
