Aug. 7th, 2005 02:58 pmhey, all, i'm in germany. thought i'd drop a line out into webspace. things are going well, i'm visiting my friend kevin, who i haven't seen in 7 years or something. he went to school with me in saudi, and now lives in munich, so we're catching up.
it's been sort of a weird few days... stayed an extra two days in rome to help with finds work after the dig was done, and didn't leave until friday night. this meant that i had to bring all my stuff to the dig site so that i could go directly to termini to catch the train to the airport. so, after a full day of washing pottery and running around a bit like a chicken with its head cut off, i managed to make it onto the plane to take me to london. i got in around 11pm, got to alex's place at like 2am, and the taxi came for me to take me back to the airport around 545am. trying to understand english after spending four weeks in a country where all the signs are in italian was sort of hard. anyway, i flew to germany, met kevin and his mom at the airport, and then rode a motorcycle for the first time, ever. on like 4 hours of sleep, with a bag. on the autobahn. it was an experience. dinner was crayfish/swedish festival served by ikea. got back, went out drinking, and just woke up. it's 3 in the afternoon here. ;)
anyway, off to london tomorrow night....
