happy thought for the day: the fact that i can spend the entire day in pajamas, if i wanted to, and no one would care. yay pajamas.

and who said that it was okay for every goddamn apartment in california (near a caltrain station) to be no cheaper than 850/mo? and a decent place, where i won't get murdered in my sleep, is nearly a thousand bucks a month. the worst part about it is that if i had a car, i could get an apt on the seaside for that. wtf? give me a good job with a good company, and i'm still beggared before I turn thirty. http://maps.google.com/maps?q=450+Esplanade+Ave,+Pacifica,+CA+94044&iwloc=A&hl=en right on the damn seaside. bloody hell.

i just want a hint manual to my life. why can't i have a hint manual? at least then i wouldn't feel quite like i was banging my head against the wall again and again and again. it's like those computer games, where you have to buy something really expensive, and you can only bargain him down so much, but you've wasted all your gold on armor or whatever so you have to go out and kill the creatures and steal their gold. but of course, the creatures inevitably kill you more than once, so it just becomes futile. and with the hint manual, you'd at least KNOW before you spent your gold on armor that you'd need to buy this quest item. hint manuals for life; i think someone would make a killing producing these things.

oh, yes, and i would LOVE some cheese with my whine.

But be careful. You can find a lot of strategy guides to life, but I have it on good authority that none of the writers had finished the game when they wrote the books.

The market is a harsh mistress. If you really want the one in Pacifica, could you buy a craptastic used car — in the $2-3k range — for the commute? Admittedly, you'd inevitably burn a lot of gas, which would definitely add up even if the car itself was cheap.

Where else were you looking for apartments?

literally anywhere that is near the caltrain or peninsula bart lines. it's just difficult to find a nice, safe apt. near the train station, since most places near the train station are generally commercial and thus less safe after dark. and i'm looking for a single bedroom place...

i mean, there are options. i'm just generally frustrated at all of them, coz i don't know the area well enough to know whether an area is a "good" area or not.

and i don't *really* want one in pacifica. i had nightmares last night about renting an apartment there, swimming in the ocean, and getting eaten by sharks. i just want a nice, safe, low-rent apartment near a caltrain station to fall into my lap. is that really so much to ask? ;)
