I didn't know we could RSVP as 'possibly dropping by.' Is it too late for that now? I would like to come, but I'm not entirely sure I can make it.

I think "possibly dropping by" basically means you're not so much so counted in as needing to get food bought for you, because that's really what the number is important for. :)
