I have no idea what the hell day it is anymore. I'm not even sure what it is that I'm supposed to be eating or if I'm supposed to be eating if I'm not hungry. My entire life is trying to revolve around two different things (aka, social life and work life), and it's getting terribly confused given that parts of my social life has moved up to the city.

And sometimes, I really don't want to do work, so I'll stay out until 1045pm just to watch Forbidden Kingdom*, telling myself that I'll go home and finish that project, even though I know I won't. I'll just go to sleep, and wake up in the morning and dread going into work and stress stress stress about it because I haven't finished that thing and begin wondering why I frittered away my weekend having adventures in the city with the 38 Geary and BLT sandwiches instead of being A Good Employee and working instead.

The unhappy result of which is waking up at 5am with a migraine**. Which suitably knocked me out for a good several hours today and made me miss this Really Important Meeting (tm), but whatever.

*This was fun, kind of a silly movie, but the fight scene between Jackie Chan and Jet Li is AWESOME, and I died laughing during the training bits.
**This was less fun.

Man, I love sleeping in. I can't believe I have to go back to work tomorrow. At least, it's a short week, what with Thanksgiving and all.

I watched "Secretary" last night. I don't know if any of the people reading this have seen it, but it's a rather bizarre movie. I've decided that I really like Maggie Gyllenhaal (at least, in this movie). Bunches of people on multiple coasts recommended this, so I figured I had to check it out eventually. As it turns out, having a Blockbuster nearby is great for immediate movie gratification and having a "AAAAHHHHH, MUST DO SOMETHING" need inspired me to walk there. In some weird way, I kind of wish I could be a secretary like her.

I feel like I should get out of the house and go hiking or something ludicrous like that, but you know what? It's kind of cold outside. Guess I'll figure something out, though.

Thing I am happy about: AC/DC. Three chords of pure rock god-dom. It's the same three chords in every song, and they have tons of songs. And it's just feel good music. Unsurprisingly, it's making me feel happy. Also, it's eggnog season again.
Thing I am less happy about: Discovering that my disposable camera expired in February. I can't say as I've ever had film expire before. I guess I'll track down a developing place or something, and see if they can get anything out of it. I don't even know what's on here.
Thing I am working on: eating healthier. I spent the last week in New York eating practically no lunch and about 6 desserts a day. This is fine if your metabolism is great at digesting LARGE QUANTITIES OF SUGAR. Mine is only okay at this. Although, if you consider what I had for breakfast (apple turnover, yogurt, chocolate, eggnog), I'm probably not doing so well with this.

Thing I'm happy about: Mae West. Saw a movie with her in it last night ("I'm No Angel"), and was highly amused.
Thing I'm less happy about: my pilot light went out again. It's fixed now, and it did take just about 2 months for it to go out, but... It's kind of annoying, especially given the fact that it's kind of cold outside.
Thing I'm working on: breathing. Stupid stuffy nose.

I came here to inform you that the frost is off the ground and Moving Day is at hand. Prepare to move your very very odd family. Good day.

What did I tell you? Moving Day!

It can't be!

It certainly can! I don't suppose you've packed!

What about Timmy? The chill in the air could kill him!

Well child, that tractor surely will. For the last time, get your children out of here, before it's too late!

It's too late. The tractor's engine suddenly springs to life with a ROAR. Auntie Shrew runs off to warn the field.

Run! Run for your lives, run! It's Moving Day! Run! The plow is here! Run!

Heads pop out of holes, animals sit up to hear. Warning signals get passed. Soon, every animal is running out of the field as fast as they can.

Run! Get out!

Odd odd week. Just odd. Good, but odd.

Saw 300. Go see it. Stare at the muscles. Or the blood. Or the cool cool animation. Anyway, you dice it, pretty awesome.

It is sunny. I'm ridiculously happy about this. I mean, ludicriously ridiculously happy. So happy, I'm wearing a skirt.

im' sort of amused by the fact that i have a good two hours of video game music that is perfect to belly dance to because the game was set in the middle east (quest for glory ii: trial by fire)... i can't think of a way to use this information, but it's very entertaining anyway. ;)

Also: (dear lord, I'll never look at potato salad in the same way...)

i went to see da vinci code with carolyn last night. the movie is as bad if not worse than the book, with the oft-cited exception of Ian McKellan who is frikkin' fantastic. And Paul Bettany is also good, although it was weird seeing him in the role of Silas. He's usually much more upbeat and nice about life. :)

in other news, carolyn! She isn't dead and she hasn't run away to join the circus, so banish the thought. We had a long conversation about stuff and life and wtf she's been doing for the last few months.

other than that, i've got nothing to say.

narnia was good. i didnt' think there were huge holes (like, what did the carnivores eat?), but then again, being a theater/fantasy person, i tend to be able to suspend disbelief if the story is good enough. and this one was classic.

and, dude, mr tumnus was really sexy. ;)

best of luck to everyone on finals.

tonite, i get to go shoot pool and have dinner with a coworker who reminds me terribly of the infamous robert. this should prove...interesting, if nothing else. i also brought my *favorite* tea mug (and favorite tea!) to work because drinking non-Lady Grey out of paper cups just wasn't doing it for me.
